Dear Parents and Students of Finger Waltz:

According to the latest precaution measures issued by MOH on 24th March, all centre-based tuition and enrichment classes will be suspended from 23:59 March 26th to April 30th. This is to reduce the intermingling of students from different schools and enhance the safety of our students.

​

After the Covid-19 outbreak came out, Finger Waltz always deem every student and parent’s heath as our first priority, we conduct strict precaution measures to keep our school clean and safe for lessons. We will also follow MOH’s latest advisory strictly this time.

​

1. All lessons in Finger Waltz Premises will be suspended.

After checking with MOH officer, please note that all lessons (no matter group lessons or individual lessons) conduct in Finger Waltz premises will be suspended with effect from 27th March to 30th April. Lessons will resume from 1st May onwards, if no further advisory from MOH.

2. We will conduct online video lessons for piano, vocal and violin students.

To keep our students’ learning progress, for piano, vocal and violin individual lessons, we will conduct online video lessons from 27th March onwards. Teachers will work at home and contact students/parents directly for conducting the lessons. All lesson schedules remain the same time slots.

For online video lessons, you need:

1) Prepare an iPad or any pad, or any smart phone with a big screen. Chargers may help to secure the power level during the lessons.
2) A good internet connection.
3) Your piano books and a notebook for taking notes.
4) A tripod or any other mount can be optional.
5) Parents or any other adults’ accompaniment will be recommended especially for younger students.
6) We can use Facetime/ WhatsApp/ Wechat video call at your and teacher’s convenience.

3. Group Ballet lessons will be suspended

It’s not feasible to conduct online ballet lessons, so the ballet group lessons will be suspended.

4. About payments

Please be assured that all your paid lessons Will Not be affected due to the suspension.

If you haven’t make term 2 payments for the piano, vocal, violin individual lessons, please kindly make payments before 31 March, so that the video lessons in April will not be affected.

5. Piano Gallery still open

Our Piano Gallery located at #02-46 will still open. Welcome for trying our Italian “Schulze Pollmann” pianos. Social distancing is required.

​

Our School Concert is coming! 

​

The school concert will take place on 19th and 20th Oct in Finger Waltz Recital Hall.

​

As a professional music school, we are not only provide quality music lessons, but also provide performing opportunities to our students. This seasonal school concert allows students to enjoy music on the stage and play the best piano, our Steinway & Sons grand, to build up their confidence and accumulate experiences.

We encourage all students to register. $10/student registration fee apply.

Parents and audiences are free for admission. Friends are also welcomed.

Supported by Finger Waltz, 3rd Singapore International Classical Piano Competition was held successfully in Lee Foundation Theatre on 17-18 August 2019.

​

170 competitors from 15 countries and regions had joined the Final Round and showed their talents to audiences and adjudicators: Ms. Lena Ching, Mr. Adam Gyorgy, Dr. Chua Yun Ying, Dr. Wu Yang and Dr. Yang Chien-ying.

Our yearly school concert, Finger Waltz Music Festival 2019 is coming!

​

The high standard concert will be held in Esplanade, the best performing stage of Singapore!

​

That will be a great opportunity for students to show their music talents in such a good venue. Performance will help them to build up their self confidence and encourage them to carry on music learning, and the most important, to enjoy music. 

​

You will never know how brilliant they are before the concert.

Dr. Krystian Tkaczewski will give masterclasses in Finger Waltz on 13 May 2019!

• Dr. Krystian Tkaczewski is pursuing his splendid piano career in USA, Asia and Europe. He has concertized on 5 continents and 30 countries.

• He has been an Artistic Director a Judge of III Future Stars International Piano Competition and frequently invited to adjudicate more than 20 international piano competitions, include : Chopin International Piano Competition, Steinway Youth Piano Competition, etc.

• He has been highly regarded as the clinician, serving as a guest artist to the universities and as the lecturer of many master classes in such countries as : USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, Vietnam, Japan, Germany, China Poland and etc.

Steinway Artist Poom Prommachart visited and gave master classes in Finger Waltz on 11 Dec 2018. 

​

Poom is regarded as one of the most accomplished Thai pianist today. His performances are highly considered for their lyrical intensity and virtuosity. He has already developed an international reputation as an outstanding performer of rare expressive depth, and has been acclaimed by critics who called him ”a young Ashkenazy” from ”Seen and Heard UK Concert Review”. in 2010, His complete and fantastic virtuosity place him in a class of his own. He has released his first solo debut CD in April 2015 with Champs Hill Records in the U.K. featuring works by Medtner, Liszt and Rachmaninoff which received great reviews in Europe, America and Asia. He graduated Bachelor’s Degree in Performance with Hopkinson Gold Medal in 2011, Master’s Degree in Performance (Distinction) and the International Artist Diploma in Performance from the Royal College of Music in 2013 under Dina Parakhina’s class. In 2014, he was awarded the prestigious Tagore Gold Medal for his outstanding contribution to the Royal College of Music which was presented to him by The Prince of Wales at the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall in London. He took the Postgraduate Diploma under the world’s renowned pianists Eliso Virsaladze and Vladimir Tropp at the Moscow Conservatory, Russia. Most recently, he has won ICM’s award from the International Center for Music’s Park University to study with Stanislav Ioudenitch, a Van Cliburn International Piano Competition’s Gold medalist.

Finger Waltz organises a Europe Summer Music Tour from 14 - 25 June 2019, to Poland, Hungary and Austria. We will have 5 days piano course in Adam Gyorgy Castle Academy in Budapest, discover the music and lives of composers Chopin, Mozart & Johann Strauss, and enjoy Mozart concert in the Golden Hall in Vienna.
